Vogue Vs "Η Γυναίκα".

In case you are wondering (and you probably are), "Η Γυναίκα" is Greek for 'the woman' (pronounced gi-ne-ka), and was the title of the unique greek woman's magazine in the 1950's! I am sure you can compare it with a current issue of Vogue, but the question is: will you find any similarities? I pick a random number -74-and turn to that page in both magazines..

While Vogue is brimming with colour featuring the next hot designers and the season's new labels , "Η Γυναίκα" is in black & white, has a piece of literature (by grigorio ksenopoulo) ,a little article with tips on how to be a good housewife (..) and live harmonically with your husband, and a recipe for a delicious turkey..

Spot the differences in the fashion spread parts from both magazines. I assume you won't need me to point out which one is which!

click to enlarge. ( I recommend that you do click because the quality is better when enlarged)

i know of loved this post. its so cool to see how much times have changed. i do feel like the vogue spread is a little bit retro (it might be just me though) and so it provides a really cool contrast.

That's really cool. Especially since I've never heard of that magazine before. I like all the older dresses & stuff. :] Although I love the purple & blue in the Vogue pictures.

The pictures from the 1950s are very chic but they're so identical that it makes me thankful for the variety in modern magazines. I also like the modern twist on elegance in the Vogue pictures.

cool post! the current vogue spread is stunning, but i think i prefer the 1950s style of dress. it's so womanly and elegant. some of the vogue stuff is a bit too futuristic for me. :)

I love the idea of comparing them. I love all the dresses in the old magazine and all the shoes in the modern one.
